I had problems like that. My neighbor below me when I lived in my previous complex constantly played his guitar (badly) so obscenely loud from 11 PM to 3 AM off and on. I just called the cops and they showed up while he was trying and failing to play Ten Speed Of God's Blood And Burial, and he didn't play anymore.
TL;DR: call the cops.
Idunno, im more into vigilante justice for my own reasons... So if they want to be douchebags and make noise with the car engine, why not remove it from the equation? Several ways to do this include;
1. Full gallon of paint thinner or paint remover in the gas tank... piston rings really dont like that shit and tend to burn away
2. Have a brave moment and switch the license plates on the car with another cars plates then call the cops and say you think your neighbor has been stealing plates... Cops tend to enjoy arresting folks for that shit... As well as towing the car the plates are on if they are caught driving it.
3. place illegal drugs in the car (even if its taping it under the bumper or something) and call the cops and say you have seen that car involved in suspicious drug deal behavior and would like a canine unit to investigate before things get out of hand.

It's generally not so bad, people tend to play music fairly loudly in this neighborhood anyway, so it just becomes low frequency background noise after a while, I normally wouldn't put it up that loud in any case.

Insane... No, I prefer the term misunderstood. Not that it makes any difference really but I am 20 and ive been in shit so deep it would cause someone as whiny as you to drown in it, yet here I am... Alive. Why? Because instead of cowering in a corner like a bitch when someone rises up against me like I used to I stand my ground and refuse to be fucked with. I dont have any patience for ignorant assholes because in groups they are dangerous to society and a nuisance were better off without. Doing vigilante stuff like that is dumb and there is no justification for it, no matter how abused you've been in your past.

I would only consider doing anything like this as a last resort in some sort of Mad Max-esque society. Around here at least, enough warnings from the police and you get a $215 fine. One of my previous neighbors learned that the hard way. :D

I have been through a lot and thank you, but the best way I can put it is what doesnt kill you WILL make you stronger... If you let it. And I was semi joking about things to do to get them to stop, I just feel like people copping bitchfits over comments and resorting to blatant name calling out of prejudice and ignorance is uncalled for and I really dont like backing down when I havent done anything wrong, I find thats what makes people assume your weak and feed off it... And that will never happen again.
Yeah, I came to the same conclusion too, I was bullied a lot in high school, but when I went to college those same people were terrified of me (partly because I had started lifting weights two or three hours a day) but also because I have a really dominant personality, so now I have to learn to rein it in a bit. Life's a learning experience, I suppose.
It is exactly that. Life is what you make of it and what you get out of all situations. Its nice to have the bullies scared huh ;)

It's half ten at night, they are revving their engine of their car, really god-damned loud (yeah, they're not even going anywhere, the cars fucking out of gear) and whooping and hollering, they do this fairly often.
Last time I put music up blaringly loud to drown them out (Thank God for my TV with a built-in sub) they tried and failed to have a noise war with me, by revving it more until ultimately they blew their radiator (big cloud of smoke and everything; it really stinks.) I think I'll do that if they try this shit again, tomorrow, stupid dumbasses.
Anybody else have any horror stories?
