Hey guys, regardless of what you may have seen proposed in the News recently, our Tag What You See rule is still unchanged from this here. Remember, the only recent change was to allow using external information for tagging character NAMES only, NOT gender or virtually anything else. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULE! Thanks! :)

Tag suggestion: Black * White

In category: Tags and Wiki

Do we have a tag that's used to show a noticeable contrast between 2 (or more) objects, using a black and white theme?

(maybe)

My suggestion: How about black_vs_white?

It sounds a bit too strongly worded though, because of the 'vs'

just search black* white* ?

Edit: And if we truly need a single tag for it, how about oreo_missing_a_cookie

black* white* brings up almost 40 different tags, including artist tags; not a very accurate option, but an option nonetheless

Seriously considering using jungle_fever (maybe)

What about high_contrast or compositional_contrast?

dichromatic

Edit: Really if we're going to start tagging general themes then we may as well go with black_and_white(theme).

Dichrome isn't high contrast between two colors or subjects; it simply means two colors. We do have theme based tags for colors such as purple_theme or blue_theme.

I think contrast will suffice for this theme.

Contrast, or possibly contrasting_theme or some such. I do like the idea of denoting images with contrasting colors, though I'd point out that those are may not limited to just black and white images. :)

I'm thinking contrasting_theme to indicate it can be a contrast of anything (namely cute and vicious, big and small, weak and strong, etc) and not just color. But maybe contrast is broad enough to include color themes, as well as object/subject themes

That's a fair point. I"m not sure this is a point for or against that idea XD
