Only privilege+ users are counting for the favorites.
This does not appear to be the cause of the bug. fav:$priv+user (checked on privileged and admin) can turn up images with 0 faves reported.
I think the issue is that for some reason the faves aren't being retroactively recorded.
I rather like the new stats. It makes it easy to keep track of comments and stuff.

I was having an issue with some images not resizing as per the selected options in my account settings. Both of the resize options are selected, some images of equal dimensions were resized while others weren't, refreshing didn't help, and my browser is Tor's Firefox (hope that's not an issue). An example of an image that wasn't resizing properly: https://www.e621.net/post/show/63689
I seem to have fixed it by going to my profile settings and saving, having changed nothing. The images were properly resized upon refreshing.
Thought someone might have wanted to know...
the user profile system was rebuilt because of a critical issue with the blacklist.. it's odd that might be affected but good to know.
Faves are already fixed in the next update.
I like it, though I do not know how important it is to know how many comments a image has. Votes and favs are useful for getting a broad idea of the quality of the image before you click it.

Just remember: Everyone has a different way of using the site <3 Something that isn't useful to you might be really useful to someone else. :)
(in this example ... someone who enjoys reading others comentary, someone interesting in keeping an eye out for drama, etc. a high comment count might encourage more people to just go "I wonder what they said.." and click :))
There are some things I may like and others I may not. Each time something new appears I have the same way of processing it. Just get used to it. Unless it is something that utterly horrifies me, I just try it out and see whether I can get accustomed to it, and usually I do.
The only disadvantage I see from the new update is an asthetic dipleasure, which I don't seem to mind. It's good to see that there are options for those who would rather not view the improvements.
Oh hey favesare working now. Pretty interesting to see how many people fave pictures.
By the way, just a suggestion, but perhaps fav'ing a picture should automatically upvote it as well? If I remember right, it worked like that way back in the old days (derp).

Is there a reason it doesn't for all accounts?

Restricting a feature to particular account levels requires more work than letting it be unrestricted.
Once a restriction is implemented, assuming it is implemented in a sane manner, the work required is either changing or adding one word/number/however they implement the account level identifier.
If the restriction takes the form of a list of account levels, the total work is changing [admin, mod, janitor, contributor, privileged] to [admin, mod, janitor, contributor, privileged, member], or if the restriction has an ordered list of account levels to work on, the total work is changing [privileged+] to [member+].
There's always the chance that the restriction system is implemented in a less than completely sane manner, but I doubt that.

That's why I put :P, now, you made me think about how it's implemented...

Maybe it's a remnant of the original ouroborosdanbooru code

Honestly.. We keep it as we think only prived people deserve too votes.
I hate it because now I can't play my "guess the rating" game.
you ruined the site for my delicate sensibilities, I'm going to fchan now.

So turn it off :P
The thumbnail info is useful, but even better would be to show the rating in them. Just a coloured S/Q/E would be enough.
Why did someone decide to make all the pages only 3 columns?

I don't see what you're talking about...

Make your browser window wider or switch to a higher resolution.
Mine has four. I use firefox, maybe it's when you're on a phone?
Anyway.
Of all the new things that I've discovered so far, there is none I see as obsolete or unpleasant.
In fact, Ilike what you did, or at least what I remember from it. I know that there was something particular that bothered me before, I think... but i don't remember.,....
I have 5 columns.
I have 5 on my laptop, but 3 on my phone, even when viewed horizontally.
I have 7 columns.
It seems to max out at 12 columns, though I think I can make room for 16 or 17 if I wanted. I usually use a window size which allows for 7 columns.
I removed an errornous element causing a ton of trouble, Everything is where it's supposed to be.
