I know it seems like a dumb rule, but it has it's purposes. :) Some people who have been banned, or feel slighted, or simply dislike our website for some reason have utterly abused our 'old' rules that allowed people to post almost immediately. Spam, illegal content, irrelevant images... and more. D: While nothing stops people from abusing us after a week, 7 days is enough for more people to 'forget' that they were going to "exact vengeance" or some such.

Just relax and you'll be able to post before you know it :)

The reason the limitations are in place is to prevent troll users from abusing the site and the system. As I said above, a week of waiting is often enough to dissuade all but the most persistent.

There has been some standard in the past of allowing some artists to post immediately by upgrading their accounts... however, an upgraded account is also given to users as a reward for good behavior and contribution to the community. These upgraded accounts tends to allow privileges like unlimited posting, or unlimited tag edits. These are designed to help the most dedicated users to help out more so (as the 'standard' account's limitations are general suitable for the vast majority of our users.) In the wrong hands, those privileged could do massive amounts of damage. Thus, we tend to try and hand them out with great care.

We have had many artists ask for an upgraded account, only to upload art once and never use the website again... this is not beneficial to the site as a whole... Or in worse cases, have an upgraded account, be angered for some reason, and start defacing the website with their powers.

So we have been discussing our options, in hopes of finding a good alternative idea that keeps our website safe, while still giving artists the respect they deserve. It is not as high priority as some other tasks... as we feel that a week is honestly not too long to wait, in the grand scheme of things.

But, in short, AbsebaroKoon was actually trying to be helpful and support your case, suggesting we help you out sooner, rather then applying sarcasm. He probably didn't deserve that rather harsh set of words you flung at him. >:C

Generally speaking, we're very honest here. Sometimes this does result in assishness, but we do try to curtail the worst of that. people who incite drama, or troll are reprimanded, then punished. We have a number of ways to report users who are generally not being Good Users.

the 'wiki' link up at the top has a lot of interesting and enlightening information, including how to hide posts/people you don't like, as well as our rules, commenting guidelines and more... Our most reported broken rules are "don't be creepy" and "don't insult other users, intentionally start drama, or be an obnoxious troll" --feel free to report anyone you see violating those rules. We can't and won't always do something about reports we get, but every report is looked at, at the very least. :)
