I noticed that the wiki entry for Saurian text says that it refers to the fictional Saurian language from Star Fox. However, the language of Lizardmen in Warhammer is also called "Saurian", at least, according to this fan wiki.

A quick forum search for "Saurian text" and "Saurian_text" shows that the only mention of this tag is in topic #27719, which moved this tag to the Meta category and created an implication for character_cipher. Additionally, topic #24134 contains a more general discussion of the term "Saurian" being overused and underspecified, which resulted in Saurian being aliased to Saurian (disambiguation).

My question is, what ought be done about the Saurian text tag? I uploaded today an image with Warhammer's Saurian text, and other images (e.g., post #3920783, post #3920786, and post #3921130) also feature this text, so the tag would applicable to a good handful of images.

Perhaps Saurian text should be disambiguated as Saurian was, and new Meta tags for their related texts should specify the franchise? E.g., Saurian (Warhammer) text and Saurian (Star Fox) Text.

I'm pretty sure that the Star Fox language that the people of Sauria speak isn't actually ever called "Saurian" in Star Fox Adventures (or the two games after that). the manual just calls it "Dino" and "Dino Language" and I think that it's called "Dino Speak" at some point in the game.

Still, "saurian" is a somewhat generic term that can mean multiple distinct things. Even if it's not canonically called Saurian Text in Star Fox, Saurians are part of Star Fox and it's text associated with them, leading fans to call it that regardless of it being technically incorrect. It's like having tags for galactic_text or runic_text or footprint_text, which has room for multiple incompatible uses in different settings. Disambiguating it and having the series' names somewhere to help disambiguate them would be good.
