My take-away is that whatever the hell Rainbow is built of, it's some stern stuff.

Due to a lot of things in the show, my friends and I have concluded that Equestria can only be explained as a Life magic plane. Everyone there can go through a hell of a lot before dying.

If it was just rainbow, the ponies she was carrying would be cut in half or worse. She has that many Gs with the force going throughout her body, even if it's a bit more concentrated in her wings. Everyone else had that force only where Rainbow was touching them. The acceleration would be over a relatively small part of their body, with the rest of them having to catch up through their connection to that point on their body.
