Hey guys, regardless of what you may have seen proposed in the News recently, our Tag What You See rule is still unchanged from this here. Remember, the only recent change was to allow using external information for tagging character NAMES only, NOT gender or virtually anything else. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULE! Thanks! :)

While it's probably good I dunno how OoT could top TP story-wise X3. Midna FTW! But yeah I do intend to play it at some point. Just not right now because I like to switch up gameplay styles so nothing gets too stale. I've got it and Starfox Adventures lined up for some point in the future.
Yeah, but one thing the Gamecube has that the Wii doesn't is the Gameboy player attachment so I can play GBA and GBC games on my TV. I've not actually got any current-gen consoles. I'm a retro gamer and I always stick at least one generation behind both for financial reasons and because I think games were more interesting when they were a niche market/developers had to use more imagination instead of piling on polygons and lens flares. I'll probably get a Wii when they drop to $50 or something after the Wii U comes out and be able to get most of the good games for the system that have come out over its lifespan for a fraction of retail price. Hell I still have games for the NES in my backlog I need to beat so not like I'm in a rush lol. I've also got a Master System/Genesis/Dreamcast/N64/PS1&2 (need to get another SNES...) so no need for the virtual console X3. Thanks for the advice though! :)

Technically, your fault if the things hand you your ass. You chose to keep hitting them for no reason.

I feel you man. It really does seem like the improved graphics have given developers the freedom to make their worlds bigger, shinier, and emptier (literally, in the case of Fallout 3 - terrible game, that). Also, action movies - I just can't watch them anymore.
Having played both games, I can tell you that OoT tops TP in every way except graphics - better story, better puzzles, better combat, better music, and much less sprawling fields of emptiness. You can skip Star Fox Adventures and not be missing much - there's a moment at the beginning and at the end of the game where Krystal is hot but that's about all that game has to offer; terrible button-masher combat system, but there were a couple decent puzzles. If you'd like a challenging action game with great gameplay mechanics, try Shinobi for PS2 (use the kick and the shurikens, seriously, and don't forget you have the charge attack); if you like puzzle games, you have to play Tetris Blast for Game Boy; if you'd like an RPG with a good story and inventive gameplay I recommend Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits for PS2 (and not the sequel, End of Darkness) and Might and Magic 6: The Mandate of Heaven for PC (winner of the Best RPG Ever award in my book - I have beaten it five times over probably 300 hours, and there's nothing really graphically impressive about it, it's just an awesome game. Go all Sorcerers!).
Happy gaming to you!

"Hey! Listen!, Whats that?, Look!, Watch out!"

I've never beaten OoT despite starting the game 5 or 6 times over the years. It simply never keeps my interest, I always get bored and quit. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker instantly hooked me and I've beaten them both twice over, each.
I just...really don't see what makes OoT so amazing. It's hardly even the best Zelda game (that's still Link to the Past), let alone best game ever made (that's Super Mario Bros. 3)

Gamecube version of Twilight princess, that is, motion controls ruin every game they touch.

Thanks for the suggestions meatballsoup!
And sorry to say gents but you're all wrong. The best game ever is clearly Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Or Sly 2, depending on which day you ask me.)

I find that the case is quite the contrary. I love my Twilight Princess for the Wii. That is why I have played through it 7 times, Going on 8. The dynamics are fluid and it's fun learning all the different moves you have to do, Shooting a bow is far superior by pointing rather than using a joystick. So is aiming all the other aimable items. Just because you don't like it, Doesn't mean it's bad. It can be badly implemented. And it certainly has been in some games, But in titles such as The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleached 2, The Conduit, Resident Evil 4, No More Heroes, Metroid: Other M, Okami, Pikmin 1 and 2 This is far from the case. It is fully working and by no means draw away from the experience. You are wrong sir. Wrong.

>implying opinion can be wrong
Also motion controls in RE4 fucking sucked. Reloading, or swinging the knife? Only the game knows which it'll be!

What? gbc was my first ever system and that was like my third game or something xD I must have beaten both at least 10 times each. Only one of the recent ones I've tried and hated was Spirit tracks... just... it was too obnoxious.

I will concede to the fact that, That particular thing was indeed problematic.

We need a better forum for stuff like this, and black text on white background. Reading white on blue makes my eyes bleed reading anything beyond a paragraph.

They flipped the entire game, even to the point that the sun and moon come up in the wrong places, just so that Link would be right-handed. As a lefty I found that a bit insulting. I'm expected to use right-handed things every day but rightys are supposed to be incapable of wrapping their head around the idea that you swing the wiimote with your right hand and he swings his sword with his left? To the point that they had to flip the entire freaking world/all characters and almost 20 years of Link being a lefty? To me that just shows the motion-controls were more rushed and tacked on for the Wii than anyone would like to admit.

OoT is nowhere near aslong or hard as TP unless u do everything... i played it on my wii (after having beaten it on n64) took me a total of 3 days, that was WITH sleep breaks n food breaks
