Christmas is to celebrate Jesus Christ's birth, though it is mostly for families to hang out and have fun, but now days it is more a stress inducing money waster/maker (depending on if you are the one selling or buying).

I always have a cheap christmas, just because I don't like fancy food lol

...From what I am told, this "Jesus" character, if they existed or not, wasn't even born in December...

To me, from what I have learned, Christmas was set just like many other christian holidays -> to take the place of Pagan holidays >.>

And the Pagans loved it and converted to Christianity and the Christians where happy because now, they knew(with what little information they had) the date of their Lord's birth. The pope killed two birds with one stone and everyone lived happily ever after even AFTER it was shown Jesus was born in the Spring because they already had Easter and Christmas fit their lifestyles when in Winter they were already all gathered together and enjoying the family time.

Now, stop nitpicking and have a Merry Christmas.

Actually, CaraChan's right. The only reason they loved it is the Roman Catholics sent to convert the Pagan Celts were smart enough to place Christian holidays near Pagan ones. It helped converts transition easily from Paganism to Christianity. It's difficult to change thousands of years of routine, it's far easier to subvert it. Like, oh I don't know, how every company that makes a product has been doing world-wide for at least the last 100 years by commercializing Christmas. A little food for thought.
