Irony (aɪə.rən.i) Noun.
1. A statement in which the conveyed intention is something opposite to the literal intention of the words used. ie; "You are vastly intelligent by claiming that to be ironic. I really want to get to know you".
2. Feigning ignorance in order to prove a point, almost always to confound or aggravate someone considered with less intellectual prowess than the one being ironic. ie; "what's a bleach"
3. "Dramatic Irony" in which the audience is intended to have critical knowledge fictional characters do not.
How is this statement in any way ironic.
