There is always the psychological factor to consider. While mankind can have adult relations with pretty much all sizable critters, that doesn't mean the animal/creature in question copes with it mentally in the same adaptive manner.

With that said, many people are very anal and protective about animals because they themselves are spoiled little brats. A lot of species result to what people call rape for procreation, and are frankly fine with it due to it being regular and within their natural expectations.

• Do you muzzle your dog so that it wont bite you as you aggressively have your way with it; BIG NO-NO.
• Is it constantly humping your leg during mating season, and you decide to act upon it without hurting the animal; No harm done.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm not a zoohpile. I'm way too protective of my pets to ever engage in any lust based activities with them.)

It really comes down to knowing and understanding the internal nature of what you're doing (no pun intended). Meaning when it concerns sentient and intelligent creatures such as FiM Ponies, it wouldn't be such a big deal, since their basically human anyway without all the cross species complications.

In other words, I'd totally hit Twilight.
