there is power armor, which is usually yellow and has missiles and a light laser. in Mech Assault 2, they add battle armor, which is usually grey with a blue-green glow, and carries a motar and a pulse laser. both have jump jets, and both have a grapple claw in Mech Assault 2. and yes my capitalisation sucks because I'm lazy right now.

that would be the battle armor. it's the only one that can hack. also it can jump onto an ally mech in multiplayer to hitch a ride. once, I assisted my little brother this way. he was in a Promtheus Mech and we were ambushed by two Thors. I popped up off his back and hacked one, taking him by complete suprise. My brother was able to bust the other one easily.
