April 2nd:The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.

We require 10 non-implicated general tags upon upload. Please check our tagging checklist before posting again. [1][2][3][4][5] Additionally, please read the wiki for adult_(lore) & young to know when to properly add and remove these tags. As crossouts, here are invalid tag edits. [1][2]
Tagging, Rating, and Sourcing Abuse
Do not add any tags that are invalid, and do not remove tags that are valid.
Tags in the general category are considered valid if they follow the Tag What You See principle – that is, they must be describing what is visible in the post.
Tags in the lore category convey the artist's intentions or other background information.
Tags in other categories are valid if the information that they convey is objectively true, such as the artist's name or the image's aspect ratio.
Do not upload posts with fewer than ten general, non-implied tags.
This restriction will be eased if the post does not have ten distinct tags that are reasonably applicable to it.
Do not use tag or description edits to be disruptive.
Do not add any sources that are invalid, and do not remove any sources that are valid.
Valid sources are defined as web pages where the artwork can be found.
At least one source page should be publicly available, unless you are the artist, commissioner, or copyright owner of the artwork.
Do not use links to piracy sites as sources.
Links to the exact submission page where the artwork can be found should be prioritized. This is not the same as the direct image link, which isn’t helpful. Links to the artist's gallery pages should be added to their artist page.
Do not add source links that redirect to a different URL (eg. URL shorteners).
Dead links to pages where the artwork could be found in the past are still considered valid and should instead be disabled by prefixing them with -.
Please read our wiki on humanoids, every tag that's striked out is invalid. [Source] Check out our tagging checklist and ratings guidelines, as well as our wiki for some helpful information! And don't hesitate to reach out to us on our discord helpdesk for any assistance.

Banned for 7 days: We still require 10 non-implied general tags upon upload. Also, read our ratings guidedlines. I'd suggest taking your time off to read up on our tagging protocols, and utilizing the "related tags" function on our upload form when you return. Because the next time this happens, it will result in a permanent ban. [Source]
Don't remove valid tags from posts, if I have to come and clean up after your invalid mass edits again you're going to get banned. Read our gender tagging guidelines before the next time you tag. [Source]
