General: collar

A device or article of clothing that snaps, buckles, and/or otherwise secures (locks) around one's neck. Once worn, a leash is often/may be attached to the collar so as to yank/drag/lead/further humilate/dominate/domesticate etc. the wearer. Symbolic of ownership, when worn, a collar is usually indicative of a state of submissiveness on the part of the wearer, and if a leash is attached and held by another, then that is usually indicative of a state of dominance on the part of the holder of said leash over the wearer of the collar it is attached to, as in petplay/slaveplay and other BDSM related scenarios/activities.

Not to be confused with choker, a type of necklace.
