General: kemono

Kemono (獣)

Japanese for beast or animal, this tag is for a specific Japanese style of anthropomorphic artwork. Usually, the characters have smaller proportions and are portrayed in a very cute, childish style. The word is sometimes used to refer to any furry art done by a Japanese artist (Karabiner/Dr comet/po-ju); this usage is less common in this community.

Not to be confused with kemonomimi, an different Japanese term used to define a different style and level of anthropomorphism.
