General: lesbian
A sublabel of homosexual, sexual behaviour or attraction between two or more individuals of the same gender. The tag "lesbian" specifically refers to images or animations depicting female homosexuality. Images depicting male homosexuality should be tagged "gay".
- This does not include "gender-swapped" characters or intersexed characters of any definition. Only characters that are entirely female go under this category.
- Even if a character's personal sexual orientation is bisexual, if she is only engaging sexually with other females in the specific image in question, it should still be tagged lesbian instead of bisexual.
- This also applies to images depicting heterosexual females being raped by other females.
- Although the term "gay" is interchangeable with the umbrella term "homosexual" in the real world, on e621, for clarity's sake, the "gay" tag applies only to images of male homosexuality, and is not to be applied to images of female homosexuality in addition to "lesbian".
- For that matter, the tag "homosexual" is aliased to "gay", so that is not to be used either.
