General: original character
A character based off of a franchise, series or other copyright that is not canon and usually not fanon either. Most traditional furry characters do not need this tag as that would be every character.
Creating a marine of your own design from the Dead Space series or creating an original pony from My Little Pony would both be considered original characters.
