Maybe 'pink shirt day' is more of a Canadian thing ... the colour is supposed to show solidarity in standing up to bullying in school-aged children; personally, I am more in favour of pink hand_wraps, or perhaps a pink belt worn on a karate or judogi, as a pink shirt would traditionally (or, used to) signify readiness to be bullied in school :/
