I am sure there have been plans laid for, well, centuries; the British monarchy has soldiered on seemingly forever.

From a commonwealth nation, I personally hope that (King?) Charles will choose to abdicate the throne in favour of his eldest son Prince William; nobody needs royal consort Camilla creeping about the throne room.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a remarkable woman, and exemplary monarch.
