That brings up another point, if this gets implemented, then there ought to be a section or sidebar either on the page or in a hyperlink similar to the "formatting help and commenting help" showing what metas work with the blacklisting system, like an example that shows that you can combine two things and it will only blacklist both of them together, as well as showing that you can use a hyphen as a 'whitelist' modifier.

I think a sidebar might be better, there's already a wiki page describing all that, but it could be either linked or just put in a sidebar.

But for me, I don't want to see MLP at all unless I am actually looking for it, whether its in the style of the cartoon, SFM models, or intricately-shaded, so a whitelising of certain parts of MLP would be a sincerely person-to-person basis. I also figure if someone dislikes MLP enough to add it as one of the first blacklist suggestions right away, they proooooobably don't want to see it period, and like I said in the above, this feature ought to give them enough knowledge of the blacklist to be able to whitelist things on their own.

Well like I said earlier, if I'd been given the option to block mlp when I first joined the site, I would have, as I don't like the cartoon. I'm glad I didn't as I'd have missed a lot if things I'd end up liking.

It's not that new users wouldn't know how to whitelist, it's that they wouldn't know that, for example, 3D versions of mlp even exist to be able to be whitelisted if they've already blacklisted mlp because of the quick tag. You can't say "they can choose to whitelist specific types" if the suggested tag would stop them knowing about the specific types.

Going back to my other point, new users simply might not know what they like and dislike when it comes to series. Kinks are more objective, if you aren't into vore then you won't like most of the images featuring vore. But with mlp, and other series, you can hate the cartoon but like the porn, making it more awkward.

There's also that if, like you, they know they don't want to see *any* mlp, then they could add the tag themselves. I feel that it's bad to add a tag to the quick list that might accidentally block things that a user might like, and a new user can't necessarily say they hate all mlp, including 3D, if they've not had the chance to see any of the 3D stuff. And that goes for all the series tags, not just mlp.
