Topic: How do I get a positive record?

Posted under General

I just got a negative record on my account because a moderator took a joke in a description of an uploaded image as 'harassment' and said that I was apparently spamming/trolling, yet I wasn't spamming or harassing. Trolling, a little bit, but I don't feel like it was record-worthy. It was possible that the moderator confused my message as directed towards somebody else, but even then, it wasn't 'harassment' still. Saying a person has autism isn't the same as insulting them. A neutral record for shitty tagging would've been okay.

With all that out of the way, I'm curious what I can do to be on e621's 'good side', because now I'm on their 'bad side' because of one little meme.

Generally, it seems that people earn positive records by being consistently good when it comes to tagging, uploads, translations, and those kinds of things. See this page for actual positive records that been handed out.

A positive record doesn't make your negative record nonexistent, though.

I don't think just being good is a thing, someone has to nominate you for an upvote. Whether that be a user or an admin. If you just do good and nobody takes notice you won't be awarded. At the same time, asking for it will just make it harder on you.

Tag like no one has ever tagged before and also report baddies.

Don't do the prior, and limit your latter. I've been told to hold back on little reports, instead focusing on the big bad rule breakers; and mass tagging is not a good idea in case you start to fuck up.

Wiki projects, tagging projects, disambiguationing) , and spot-tagging posts that are missing tags are the safest ways to get some praise. It won't happen immediately, so just keep it up.

Perhaps actually reading the site rules and abiding by them would be a good start.

Being nominated is not obligatory. If the administration comes across contributing users, which isn't uncommon, we may decide to put a green stamp of appreciation on their profile.

Don't sweat it kid. I'm a pretty sarcastic asshole around here and I'm still in business

A joke badly presented only in text which involves things that can very easily be taken as offensive out of context is pretty much never a good idea.

Suck a lot of dicks

What if there are no dicks to be sucked? :V

And more importantly what if those dicks want to suck you up, literally?

Together with sarcasm, not an advised action in text-form, no.

And more importantly what if those dicks want to suck you up, literally?

In Soviet... You can fill in the rest yourself...

Totally not undermining the statement in the first paragraph
