Janitors, moderators, and admins are on lunch break. Please stand by.

Who would have thought site staff have lives not pertaining to a porn dump site?
Even then I see that number not actually match up to anything in particular a lot.
Oh right, something to keep in mind: anything flagged has to be reapproved.

Shame on you! How dare you have a life outside a porn dump site?

Clearly you have never had an administrative lunch. They fucking eat like kings!
But honestly, just practice patience. It is nowhere near as bad as some flags and takedown requests I've seen. It depends on a myriad of variables and is largely individual to the artwork and the janitors whom are on.

Are these kind of threads really necessary, especially after recently having like 20 of them about approvals? It always boils down to largely the same answer: just be patient, they'll get to it eventually.
Anyway, the more straight-forward your post, the earlier they will get approved; I can guarantee that decent/good quality furry stuff will be approved in a day or so, whereas questionable quality and/or less furry content takes longer.
For example, if you look at my uploads, you can see that most of them are from a few select (good) artists, and as result they got approved in no-time: all within a day (that was before becoming Contributor).

Sounds to me like you didn't even read (or rather see) OP.

It appears that nobody did, seen the replies. Or rather, they did read (see) it, but thought you were pointing out the amount of unapproved posts as a complaint.
You could file a bug report, too.

Well, judging that they were able to upload during or after they submitted this, it does look more like a complaint. However, something does appear off... I'd try to calculate and mathemagic up a reason, but that would actually be more complex than what'd be worth; Para and co. could quickly see the problem without complex arithmetrickery.

I uploaded a larger version of an existing picture and it was approved, but it still says pending approval. spooktober is in full effect I guess.

I can actually explain this one! The number that shows on the user page includes posts that are marked as 'pending' or 'flagged' and the one on the upload page only includes posts that are marked as 'pending'. The one on the upload page should likely be updated.
