As some may have noticed, I have been removing old neutral records from user profiles. With old, I mean older than 6 months. This was to clean up some of the site's old pages that no longer apply. This was also to make users aware of the fact that old neutral records can be requested for deletion.

However, I and other admins will not delete neutral records that:

• are younger than 6 months
• are meant as positive records
• contain special instructions or links to accounts used for vote cheating
• contain special or funny messages

That last one is mainly for records left by ippiki_ookami. Because users seem to enjoy reading through those, they will be kept for "historic value" until the accused users themselves request them to be deleted.

If you have any neutral record that doesn't fall under one of the conditions in the section above this and want it removed right now, contact me or any other admin.

Please note
I've received dozens DMails about confused users, thinking they are receiving a record, while I removed it. We admins are considering to change the message, but for now, please read the DMail properly.

Update: the cleanup has been finished by now. An estimate of 3600 neutral records have been deleted. From here on out, neutral records that reach the 6 months mark will be removed.

Shame that negative records can't be removed. Or at least almost all of them. Only so few instances of that ever happening, and I assume they fall under underaged users who eventually reach 18 years old.

Any administrator can and will remove old neutrals. You just need to ask about it.

This reply that I left on a different forum sums up most of the things that can get you one.
Bear in mind that good behavior is the very base of any positive record/upgrade, so always put up with a good attitude.

Can I have a neutral to add to my collection? :v

Huh, so that's why I suddenly got a message. I don't even know what a neutral record is, I was reading it like "uuhh...? UHHHH?" Thought it meant I was no longer neutral or something like that.

eh edited my last post i realy wish i could could have my negative taken away i have made mistakes ill say that but that dosent permenantly make me a bad person :/ yes i braught outside drama into the site but the person wronged me and kinda just went on acting all innocent. i digress though i should have moved on and i didnt so i feel bad now and i only wish to move on from this point. i dont wanto be hated because of a mistake or 2 , so maybe could you take off the 2 negatives? i hardly even get on here accept when iam anon looking for stuff.

Negative records will not be deleted, with the exception of records added as mistake or really old negative records that were added for inane reasons.

That's a shame. I was given a negative when I should have received a neutral since it was my first "offense" and the post in question was only really deserving of a warning. :v I even messaged an admin who said they would look into swapping it for me but they never got back to me on that front.

Your record was a negative on request of Dave back then, something about dog piling on the artist if I recall correctly.

This is a one-time occurrence only, do not expect this to happen again.

Could someone remove the neutral record on the account of a user by the name of Scarred_Slate ?

I know that the neutral offense is only 2 months old, but I still feel that it should be removed given the rather unfair circumstance that caused it to be reported in the first place.

(If not for them, then for me. I still feel awful about it.)

HERE'S WHY I ASK:

The only reason that this user got the neutral record in the first place is because I brought something (involving this user) to the attention of the community without including names because I wasn't upset or mad or anything and I just had a question about what had happened.

But even though my intent was to protect and help the user, a third party (albeit an admin) did some research to figure out what and who I was referring to and decided to report the user/give them a neutral record for what I had asked about.

The user had even apologized to me formally for their actions and explained that it was due to "not being in an entirely Clear state of mind" and I told them that I had no problems with it. Yet they still got a record because of someone else's report.

So in short: It's my fault Scarred_Slate got a neutral record even though it was my intend to prevent that very thing from happening in the first place. And as such I don't think it's quite fair to keep that report pinned to the user, especially since it was such a minor offense.

I know that the neutral offense is only 2 months old, but I still feel that it should be removed given the rather unfair circumstance that caused it to be reported in the first place.

If they're sorry about it, they won't do it again. The neutral is there to prevent it from happening again, like a probationary period.

I caused them to get a neutral record, even if only by drawing attention to it sooner rather than later. So even though I didn't do anything wrong I still feel highly responsible.

I guess probably still doesn't make a lot of sense, and if so then I guess that just goes to show how overly altruistically skewed my morals are. And if that's the case then I'm sorry.

Given the situation this is unfortunately out of our hands. The record shall not be lifed for I have done the deed and have received the consequences for said actions. However it is much appreciated of you to attempt to help me out.

All I've ever accumulated was neutrals, and one of them was even from that "wonderful" person Aurali. I almost miss them. Heck I almost miss the one from Aurali. It was like an .. achievement.. a glance from on high from a dead "god."
