I'm trying to tag drawings of my character, who is called Bimbo, but whenever I try to add "character:bimbo" to the tags, it turns into "invalid tag".

It also automatically adds "fan character" to the post, when it's just a bunny/rabbit fursona and not from any franchise.

What's up with that?

Bimbo is aliased to invalid tag, you have to use the suffix _(character) to distinguish. Here is the forum related.

bimbo was an existing tag that got aliased to invalid_tag because it wasn't used in a consistent, useful manner. If you have a character named Bimbo, you should tag it as bimbo_(character).

fan_character is used as a synonym for original_character because it's used when a fan makes an OC within an existing setting. If your character doesn't belong to any franchise, there's no reason to tag it as original_character.

Rather than _(character), you should use the artist's name. bimbo_(baphometbimbo) for example.

Yes, please do this, this is much more useful than 'Character', and makes it much easier to differ between similar named characters. I wish every instance of 'character' had a suffix, especially with common names.
