Crush isn't a popular fetish (for lack of a better word) to begin with. Unpolished traditional art also isn't very popular here (where polished digital art is much more common). Those two combined are probably working against you more than your technique or artistic ability.

I know a lot of artists do traditional, scan it, then polish it in photoshop (to make the lines cleaner, shading smoother, work on fine details, etc.). Perhaps you could try that and see what happens?

Also, you might wanna work on your head/faces, the one in that image isn't terribly pleasing to the eyes.
