Topic: Forum Rules

Posted under General

So my thread was locked for being a "forum game".

Can someone direct me to where the forum guidelines are laid out so I don't mistakenly make more invalid threads?

1) No forum games.
2) Necroposting is fine, if you keep it relevant.
3) All general and commenting rules apply.

That's pretty much everything.

So in other words there are no posted guidelines or rules for the forum. Got it.

Also, no roleplaying or roleplaying requests.

That's covered by the general rules.

Yeah, we stopped having forum games after peeps started spamming them all over the forum years ago (I used to be one of them smh)

Oh, they're posted. Somewhere. Separately, and buried under thousands of other threads.

Yep. Made it tough to spot new posts when there was always two threads marked as unread.

Which reminds me of an another rule: no spamming.
Those are mostly covered by the general rules, but there's couple of forum-specific things to keep in mind. Don't post the same message in several threads, don't double-post (use edit instead and combine the posts into a single one), and don't make multiple threads in a quick succession. ...if you have several related suggestions for implications or aliases, post one of them and edit the rest into that thread.

In regards to this, what's the best thing to do if I accidentally do this? At the moment, I edit the second comment into the first one, change the second one to something like Double post. Please delete. then hide it so it's out of everyone's way. You can see and delete hidden comments, right?

Yeah, that's fine. Hidden posts are rarely deleted, though. There's not much point to it if they're already hidden from general view.

don't think i've ever actually stopped to read the rules on pretty much any site/forums tbh. come to think of it, out of the 2, maybe 3 times, i've been banned from a site or forum over the years. i think one of them wasn't a result of rule breaking.

people speaking foreign languages on an english server instead of the international server or others for their own languages (english, mofo's, do you speak it?!). it's hard to play on a english server of a mmo when no one is speaking english.

Forum games are under spam, as in, pointless threads.

However, this is a soft rule so absolutely no records or disciplinitaion will be given. They're just getting closed and that's it.
