Reviving since the series is getting some new attention with the release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Since it's a series now, would implicating ori to some tag like ori_(series) be better?

Ori_(series) sounds better, but should the separate games be aliased or implied?

I'm not that familiar with the series, but I think aliased? Unless there's enough unique characters between the two titles to warrant separate tags

Individual games/books/movies in a series don't tend to get their own tags. Monster Hunter used to have a monster_hunter_world tag for monsters and characters added in that game, but the tag was removed/aliased to the monster_hunter series tag. Similarly, there's many characters in Pokemon that are from a particular game in the series, but they're all kept under the pokemon tag (there is the pokemon_mystery_dungeon tag, but that's its own spinoff series and setting, not a specific game in a series).

99% of the art is focused on Ori, but there's a handful of other characters that occasionally show up alongside Ori (usually Naru, Sein, or Kuro). I haven't played Will of the Wisps yet, but I imagine there's a few from there that will inevitably show up in art, as well. There's also art that uses Ori's species (the guardian_spirits) without featuring Ori themself. Given these things, I don't think an alias is appropriate.

What about the legend of zelda tags?

Good question. I mentioned how Monster Hunter had a game-specific tag removed, and Pokemon has avoided entry-specific tags. I don't recall seeing entry-specific tags for How To Train Your Dragon, Digimon, Animal Crossing, or anything of the sort either. I'm not sure why Zelda gets to have specific tags like that.

A few characters from the first game show back up, there's no same-named characters that are actually somebody different.

Ori_(Stargate) is a tag? Not sure if those pasty-looking dudes are furry, but likely scaly? (Joke) :D

Aren't the ori living fireballs ?

Also, both Ori games almost have the same characters.

Naru, Gumo, and Ori return, Sein and Kuro do not. No new characters use those names, though there is a character named Seir.
