That might explain it. In order for the blacklisting to work, you need to both accept cookies (which you obviously do already since you are logged in) and allow javascript; without it the blacklist won't function. If you are able to, ticking "enable scripts" on that proxy might work.

That's why. I have a option "Remove Scripts" enabled. I'll uncheck it and see if it fixes itself.

It unfortunately did not work. It's not really a problem since I'm used to seeing by now anyway.

That happens with some aliases. It tends to happen when the database is busy or has too much to go through (particularly if it has to change tag types [general -> species, etc.]). Timeouts are usually just that and can usually be ignored (they still need fixing on our end, but that will come with the software upgrades we've been working towards). If you ever find you absolutely can't put something through, feel free to message me and I can either put it through manually or play with it until it actually submits to the forum.

Steps to Duplicate: Look At This]This isn't a bug. Well... not exactly. The post count doesn't count deleted posts, but it will temporarily if someone removed/added them from a deleted post. During the site's downtime they will recount these tags and update them as part of normal maintenance, so it's only a temporary display problem. Most of the time it goes unnoticed, but it tends to show up when someone empties the tag out manually (including deleted posts).
It's explained in more detail in forum #161658.

Nope, it's not related. It's actually not a bug either. That list contains all pools currently marked "active". Up until about a week ago there were thousands of entries in that list that had accumulated over time that you had to scroll endlessly through to find the pool you were looking for. Since having thousands of mostly finished pools in that list is kind of pointless and confusing for many people (some even thought it was a way to browse pools), I went through and cleaned the list out manually; the pools you see are probably going to all be new pools (new pools are marked active by default). This was kind of a one time thing and I doubt it will be done very often in the future, but if it does I think leaving a chunk of new pools (the last 100? 500?) should suffice.
If you want to add posts to a pool that isn't in that list you can do any of the following:
- Tag it with pool:XXXX. In other words, for pool #1234 you'd tag it with pool:1234 (doesn't need to be active) OR
- Go to the pool itself and change it to active, then use the add to pool list OR
- Use the import function — great for comics (doesn't need to be active)
- Tip: I'd also recommend adding order:id_asc to your import search since this will show the correct order more often than not
Edit: If you happen to know the exact name, you can also tag it with that:
- pool:mlp:_my_little_dragon for pool #1234 - Note that this may be a bit hit/miss since it has to be exactly the same as on the edit page.
I just type the letter the pool begins with and I can get there rather quickly.

This is a Firefox bug, there's actually very little we can do to fix this on our end. The only thing that will get it to play in Firefox is to re-encode the file using a different encoder and it would still need to be re-uploaded either way.

Firefox 39.0, I tried a few other webms and they worked, but not the one syrmat linked.

Yeah, I'm running 39.0 on Arch Linux x86_64, webms (including ones on e621) usually work. Syrmat's gives a display that says 'no video with supported format and MIME type'.
Downloading the webm and playing in MPV works.
Pointing firefox at the downloaded webm.. gives a different message -- "video can't be played because the file is corrupt."

Source-URLs, descriptions and sometimes tags of posts are not properly escaped when returned as XML:
(Abbreviated with "..." for clarity and indented with "_") <post id="502971" description=" ... No pun intended. Brought to you by "Artie!":http://www.furaffinity.net/user/artie - Zaush Page 7" ... /> _______________________________________________________________________^______^ " <post id="480286" description="Image titled "Captured By Horny Lynx"" /> ____________________________________________^______________________^ " <post id="566940" tags="2014 <3 anthro ... " /> _____________________________^ < <post id="269569" source="http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=31708094"/> ____________________________________________________________________________^ &
Quotes in XML-attributes are obviously a bad thing. There's no way to properly parse this.
Less-than-signs would actually be possible, but they aren't valid according to XML-specifications and most parsers won't like it.
In the last line the "&" should be escaped, because XML-parsers will try to find an XML-entity "&illust_id" but fail, because it isn't closed with ";" (there's a "=").
Also:
Multiple spaces in a row are removed when answering to threads. I had to use underscores (or other printable characters) to indent the ^ characters.
Example:
a b
There should be 16 spaces in between "a" and "b".

i know that server upgrade and whatnot several months ago helped for quite a while but now it seems the errors have returned. :(

This was actually a completely separate issue to the one we were seeing before. Before, the servers were getting taxed during high traffic times of the day; we needed to upgrade the hardware in order to compensate for this. What we are seeing right now is more of a software issue. A greatly simplified explanation for what happened now was one of the apps froze up and Dari spent a good part of the day trying to get it restarted and running properly.
There are also some unrelated issues with optimizing certain parts of the software, but that is more of an internal long-term goal sort of thing and unrelated to what we saw today.

I'm not sure if this is a bug report or feature request, but:
Having your own message cause a thread to be marked unread is silly. If you posted the message, surely you read it.
(it's not necessarily true that you have read all messages in a thread you have just posted in, of course (someone could post in the meantime). But if the latest post before yours in that thread, after your post was added, was one that was already served to you, then yes, that thread should probably be considered read.)

Consider this:
The forums currently use a very simple way of tracking which topic you've read. It only stores the most recent forum post ID you've seen and treats the corresponding topic read, along with everything else that came before it.
If your submitted posts would automatically mark themselves as read, other threads (that may have updated while you were busy typing your response) would also be marked as read.
Edit: I'm not saying I'm against it, though, only that the current setup has its pros as well.

I wasn't aware that was the current setup. It explains some brokenness I have experienced (well, I would describe some consequences of the above as broken).
Anyway, no changes would be needed there to handle the most common case (there is only one thread shown unread, and the most recent poster is you).
Since post ids are monotonically increasing integers, if the last post id you saw is $your_recent_post_id minus 1, then you can safely set last post id seen to $your_recent_post_id.

Tagcount:1 and tagcount:0 are non-funtional at the moment. I use this to spot nuked and tagless posts... since its broken I have to use the order:tagcount_asc tag line which works, but less usable as I have to examine the posts if on a mobile device.

Expected behavior: when adding character:xyz to a post made by xyz artist with their self named character it should add Xyz under the character heading

Steps to duplicate: Modify tags on a post with an artist tag or character tag.

Tags don't belong to individual images, so changes made to a tag's type will affect every single post that has it. This also means you cannot have an artist tag and a character tag with the same name, as they're essentially the same tag, and you're simply changing its type.
In cases where a character's name is the same as the artist's, it's common practice to use suffixed tags. For example, xyz could be kept as an artist tag, while having xyz_(character) as the character tag.
In your example, you could keep silverdeni as an artist tag and add character:silverdeni_(character) for the character.

It's a screwy interface IMO, it would be better to keep tag type changes separate from ordinary changes.
But to answer your question, no, entering character:silverdeni does the following:
Again, I'll note that _(foo) suffixes are just an ordinary part of a tag's name, and have no direct relation to tag type. if you want to create a tag named 'silverdeni_(character)' -- which is the correct thing to do if most existing taggings of silverdeni refer to an artist -- , you should enter 'character:silverdeni_(character)' to create the new tag and set its type correctly.
Conversely, if most existing taggings of silverdeni were of a character, not an artist, then you would be expected to enter 'artist:silverdeni_(artist)' for the post you were tagging with the artist tag.
After the tag is created (ie. applied to a post for the first time), the tag type is remembered, and so you should then simply use the tag without the type-setting prefix (eg. 'silverdeni_(artist)' or 'silverdeni_(character)'). The preexisting tag representing the other tag with a different type is generally kept without a suffix, as in 'silverdeni'. Though this may change if it comes to be in the minority.

Actually, if a tag hasn't been created before, adding _(character), _(artist), etc. to the end will automatically create it as that specific tag type.
(Note that in this case silverdeni and silverdeni_(character) are actually different tags as savageorange mentioned. This won't actually change silverdeni into a character tag).

Unfortunately most of the meta tags don't work with the blacklist. The blacklist is processed on your computer, which means it's limited to what is on the posts page itself (you can see most of the information that is blacklistable when you mouse over a thumbnail).
The only current workaround is to search for -fav:wolfpack30156 instead.

We're testing some updates on e926 and Unicode support is one of the bigger areas that have back-end changes. If you see any "incompatible character encodings: ASCII-8BIT and UTF-8" (or similar) errors pop up, it will usually mean there is a unicode character somewhere on the page that is triggering it (the ä in "Kampfer" on your profile, the é in pokémon, アーティスト名, etc.).
From what I understand, it's a pretty minor programming-related issue (akin to forgetting to put a comma at the end of a line) and as long as we know what is affected it should be simple to fix. Either way I've let Spight know along with some info on what might be causing the issue and I'll post here when I have further updates.

I went ahead and re-approved the implication. Implications/aliases will occasionally fail to apply under certain conditions (high server load is one example); essentially it doesn't finish everything it was supposed to do and forgets that it needed to do it*. It's not really as much of a problem as it once was (partly due to bug fixing, and partly due to the new hardware), but it does still happen on occasion.
If you know of any more, feel free to send me a note.
*I remember one case where fæces was on a number of images because of a failed alias that went unnoticed. I manually went through those as a member but re-approving the alias would have probably been faster. :X

Usually when you see that error, it means that you don't have permission to do something. Since there is currently no way to differentiate whether or not a post was hidden by a mod, this was done to prevent users from unhiding things that should stay hidden.
However, since there's no reason for that button to be there if you can't use it, I went ahead and pushed some changes to at least not show the button for non-mods. There are still a number of these buttons laying around in various parts of the site that I've been working to clean up; hopefully it should all be ready for the next update.
In the meantime, if you ever accidentally hide a post feel free to PM one of the mods.

Confirmed. It's actually raising an exception NoMethodError in BlipController#preview (behind the blip is an error page, but the page itself is sort of hiding it).
Note: This is only if you edit a blip after it was made, the preview button seems to work as expected hit preview at any other time (e.g., when writing/responding).
