since photos are not allowed anymore, if it looks like a photo and not scan, its probably going to get deleted

Photos are allowed, but they need to be of professional quality. In most cases it'd be easier to just get the art scanned.

As a rule of thumb: if the photo is misaligned and the backdrop is visible (most notably the first and second photos), they're pretty much guaranteed to be deleted.

Also, please don't shoot in JPG mode. Nobody should be using that nowadays.

In all honesty you would have been better off using normal sized canvas. There's little noticeable difference between these and your 8x10 arts..

If it's too large to scan, then just scan in segments and then edit them together.

Well, that'd be fun, but I also suggest this. I had to do this for a similar problem.

.. Try a stitcher like Hugin first. Often the automatic stitching is far better than you could do by editing -- particularly since it also compensates for things like varying light level.

I do a lot of scans, some of them are big multi-piece scans. I use hugin on these. Occasionally it fails to properly understand the input. In these cases you can either adjust control points manually or go the complete-manual-editing route (I usually go for complete manual editing if auto-stitching fails)
