When I had to make the icon for eSix Extend, I first looked on the posts and used the one on post #63467 (or was it post #61018 ? I don't remember) then vectorized it. At the moment, there were no logo usage rules nor I was admin then. Reading Chaser's comment, I guess there are now?

I dunno if I still have the vector of it, or if I can share it so I guess it's better to wait for a response from higher admins

There is currently no logo guidelines right now(which effectively means grey area), but it would be preferable to have it to ensure people don't do things that may appear to represent the site(eg: using the logo for a Android app icon).
In artistic form I don't think there would be a problem.

If I think the highest res one you're going to get on the site is this one, it's 180x180, so it's still a bit small. There's also this svg, but it's monochrome and the white bits of the ears are missing.

Just, don't do bad things with it like say we endorse stuff, use it as a application icon, or claim you made it, etc. Legal words.
Keep in mind if we find it being used improperly, we may ask for you to stop, but since it is in shitposts memes, I don't think it will be much of a big deal.
If you use it now, just remember any logo guidelines released later will take effect immediately.

Not trying to be a jerk/dick, it's just legal protection for the logo.
