Topic: What happened to Tacoyaki?

Posted under General

I started noticing their work wasn't showing up on here anymore despite not being on the DNP list. So, I did some googling and found that their FA and Twitter have both been deleted also. Anyone know what happened? I can't find their work or any info anywhere besides Rule34.

He stopped drawing and had his works deleted from everywhere. I haven't been given any reason when he made his request.

Tacoyaki has vanished from the Internet for, as I recall, undisclosed personal reasons.

I'm not in the business of conjecture so that's about all I can offer.

I read his journal post about this on FA after noticing the takedown and, if I recall correctly, he said that he planned on quitting two years ago but ultimately decided to do it now. He never disclosed the reason behind quitting.

I hope he has a backup of his art in case he has a change of heart.

Aw man, that's a shame. I hope he's okay wherever he is now.

I'll never get Artists and quitting, and wiping themselves off the face of the Earth

like did they hate their art that much? why not just leave it up? you dont have to draw, but you could've left everything that you worked hard to make up.

we all have our own ways of dealing with things.

I've never done it, and don't think I would, but I could understand getting frustrated and tired with people bugging me--for free art, telling me I'm a bad person, sharing too much info, giving me "ideas" for art (y'know. requests, but in the guise of an "idea") people asking why you havn't posted lately, you shoudl post more/. arey ou open for commisions? that's too much. etc etc etc...

and jsut saying "y'know what? nope. I'm out."

but ultimatly, everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do.

yep, this pretty much.
Hating his own art could be one of the reasons maybe, like Scakk said. In a situation like that you have to look at it from the artists perspective, not your own. If you hate your own art, you simply dont want to be asociated with it anymore. Some artists just quit and some also delete their work. Personally I would delete mine as well.

Not saying this is what happened 100% but a little more explanation for those who dont understand such actions.

It seems like his art is still on rule34.xxx

That website has practically no rules, I swear. At least it's still somewhere instead of totally being wiped off of this plane of existence, though.
However, a bit reluctantly, I do say we should always support the artist's choice, and acknowledge their wishes out of respect. It's their work; and they ultimately own the rights. As an artist myself, I can sort-of understand where he might be coming from.
