Topic: My original posts keep getting deleted and I cant figure out how to become an artist

Posted under General

I draw everything my self, and Most of it is fairly decent. I'm not sure why it keeps getting deleted. Also, I'd like to know how to upload my art with my username as the artist. I've contacted an admin but I've gotten no response...

When you upload, tag it with artist:PencilNeck so your art gets an artist tag. Also, can you provide a link to where you upload your art? It's being deleted for not meeting quality standards. Are they photos or scans? Photos are instantly deleted.

Reminder to only do this once and on tag that is not in use. I have seen many times how someone changes e.g. character tag to artist tag and now everything is complete mess.
You can also check tag amounts and change tag types on top panels Tags.

And yes, this is curated booru, so this ideally shouldn't be the first/only place to post your artwork. This way users can also still go and look your artwork in cases it's getting deleted from here.

See forum #235851, message the deletion handler to know what caused them to delete the posts. Looking at these myself, it's definitely not the worst I have seen, but there are severe problems with general anatomy and stray black and white pixels combined with completely random gaussian blur aren't helping.

You've got a really GOOD basis here. Just, we've got a high bar over here. You should stick with it! I've seen people pay for far worse <3

To be more critical -- you need to learn your tools a bit better. don't use the blur tool anywhere (generaly. there are always exceptions). it just frustrates the eyes because we can see that 'something' is weird.. On that note: layers are your friend.

use the eraser on your line art to help taper tips and edges of lines so that they end more smoothly-- ditto for shading.

100% honest here: You've got a good basis here. Even if you've traced these wholesale from another artist, you've got the skill to keep going on your own. So stick with it. Get a fur affinity, or ink bunny, or weasyl or whatever, and post your stuff there.. keep drawing.

Art is basically 95% repetition and practice. you have have all the vision in the world, but getting your hand and your tools to make that vision is practice. SO much practice. So get started on that: draw lots of art, and with time and practice, you'll keep on getting better. :) you've got the basics of skill--you can DO This, if you put in the effort to improve.
