Topic: Creating a new Character Tag - Solved!

Posted under General

I'm probably being stupid and missing something obvious, but I'm relatively new to using E6 as a user (been a lurker for a decade), and I've seen a few pictures of my characters uploaded here with no one having tagged them. So, how do I go about adding character tags to posts?

EDIT: Thanks for the tips folks, got that sorted now!

When typing in a tag, you can add a prefix to change its typing. Character: is the one you're looking for. For example: typing in character:tyler.com will create a green character tag named tyler.com.

You can also change them via the edit function on the tags page, but this is generally the quicker way for nonexistant tags.

Add character: before the tag when editing tags (i.e. character:insert_tag_here). You can also go into the tags list, search for your character's tag, then under the type column, click "edit" on the row corresponding to the tag in question. You can choose the tag type from a dropdown menu then click "Save" to set it.

Thank you so much!

Just kind reminder that make sure that tag you are changing into character tag isn't already in use. Have had to clean up so many messes where someone changed someones artist tag into their character tag.
