It has been stated that Deltarune is officially not connected to Undertale. They are different games taking place in different worlds, despite sharing some characters.

That being said, is it agreed upon that images tagged with "Deltarune" should only be tagged with "Undertale" if an Undertale character is in it? (e.g.: Sans or Toriel)

I want to make sure before I start taking "Undertale" out of Deltarune-only images.

It has been stated that it's not a direct sequel to whatever you did in Undertale. But it'd be really hard to argue that it's not connected at all, considering that most of the major NPCs are in both games, and the symbol of Deltarune appeared in Undertale.

So it's an alt universe, or possibly just alt history. And since over dozen of those (none of them official) implicated to Undertale, it'd make little sense not to do that with the official follow-up.

We're basically treating Undertale as the "Multiverse" of this all. If it comes down to it, we could perhaps make an umbrella tag for the both of them (And then imply the joint characters to that instead), but I'm not sure what that could be.

I think that it'd be a sort of "elseworld" (ie. Most or many characters from a previous work are present in a radically different setting that also has some simmilarities to the previous one).

As for tagging, perhaps Deltarune_(Undertale) could be o.k.
