I just wanted to ask something, cuz im not sure if this is a bug or im just not using the site right or something.

ive noticed when on an image, the artist tag can say i has a certain amount of images under it, but when you click on it that number changes?

for example; i was looking at this image https://e621.net/post/show/755877

and the artist says cherrybox - 5, but when you click on it and go to all images tagged cherrybox, theres 151?

also, the original image isnt in this images tagged cherrybox?! what is going on??

The tag has been aliased to garnetto. The search is showing you the 151 posts tagged with that.

The 5 still tagged cherrybox may just be a glitch.

Cherrybox was another name the artist went by. Since they are using garnetto as their primary artist name, we set an alias for that.
99% of the time, when a alias is made, the server fixes all the tags. Some times however, it misses a few.
If you edit the tags, you don't even have to change anything, just clicking save changes, this will correct the post's information as the server will check for aliased tags during submission of the tag edits.
