Hey, Does anyone know the name of or knows if there's such a thing as a Drawing tablet that simply connects to your PC, Displays what's on the screen on your PC and allows you to interact with it?
(With a Drawing pen, Touch controls and so on?)

I really wanna upgrade from my drawing pad to a tablet but I also want to keep working on the art I have already started on, on my PC.

The lowest I've seen are still $450 and upward (by Huion). These are basically monitors that you hold, so they are also quite heavy and fragile unlike normal graphics tablets. Chances are if you find one for that low amount it's not worth using.

The stupid thing? A "Graphics" tablet, who's name implies it shows you graphics, doesn't show you graphics. How did they get away with false naming like that?

A question, do at least some of the ''non-graphic'' tablets have a function of tracking your pen without activating it

ie. i put the pen gently on the pad and there appears an indicator where the tip on the drawing is without making a dot or a line?

Pretty sure this is software thing, so you should be able to enable/disable stuff like this at least on some models, similar to how barcode readers can press enter, space or nothing after reading the barcode.

If not, there are always external solutions for this kind of stuff, e.g. with Osu! you can just disable mouse clicks completely.

Actually, yes. Hover the pen over the tablet without actually tapping it down and the cursor will be moved.

You could also:
1) Buy a leap motion thing https://www.leapmotion.com/ (NOTE: Sensitivity may vary, requires custom software to make it draw on stuff)
2) Hack together a touch screen by putting a capacitive touch layer on top and making a arduino interface which translates it to USB 3.0 data.

you can use something like Microsoft's own android Remote Desktop to make that android tablet into sort of a 2nd display specifically for you to draw art, if you want to get an android tablet. There's also GfxTablet that works with pressure sensitive pens, but it only works on Linux though...

just to say... I'd rather spend the extra money and get something that I know is supposed to work right then buy something lesser that might give me a lot of headache... but that's me.

In that case, it's settled; I'm gonna get one these and see if really is a
way to establish remote control access from the tablet to the PC its self.
If so, I might of just of found a drawing tablet in the 200$ price range
that might just be worth buying ◠‿◠)

It won't just be something to plug into my computer,
but something I can carry around with me too and can
do a whole lot more than just draw ╹‿╹)

And as much as I love Gforse stuff, in general, I'm gonna have to pass
if it requires Linux. I have Window 10 so android might be my best bet
at getting this bet to work.

I totally see where you're coming from m8, But I just don't have those
types of funds to spend on one of the $500 to $1000 dollar ones.

Going with the method presented now might just be the best way of me
getting anything closer to a drawing tablet than the drawing pad I
have now. Besides, worst comes to worst I can always just return the
tablet and get my money back. No harm, No foul. ╹‿╹)

I'll just be back to square one and back to plan A of saving up money

You get what you pay for, what a regular android tablet can offer you is widely different from what a professional drawing tablet can.
(By the way, I'm assuming you are asking about it because you want to make digital drawings with it)

If you care for the opinion of someone with some experience in the subject, it's really not worth to get this kind of tablet early on. For now it's best to just use a simpler one (the bamboo line by wacom is a pretty affordable option!)

Not even mentioning how much you can screw up your posture with this kind of tablet, since you'll tend to scrunch up while drawing with it instead of your regular "looking at the monitor" posture

And you have a very valid point. I have been using a drawing pad similar
to the bamboo line of products made by wacom up to this point. ╹‿╹)

Though I have to say, Drawing on a pad like this isn't exactly
100% for me, ya know? By no means am I saying it's bad; Heck no!
It's awesome and I love drawing in a more natural way like this.
But, I've always had this nagging feeling like I could be drawing
faster and better if I could look at the screen I'm putting the pen on
and I think it's about time I finally give it a shot ◠‿◠)

I was just giving my input since a lot of newer artists seem to believe in the fallacy that having a better/more expensive tablet makes you produce better art, and that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Also looking down at the tablet instead of looking up at your monitor drastically changes your posture. Sure you might not notice it if you're just drawing casually, but when you start spending 30 to 40 hours a week drawing that change really takes a toll on you

Anywho, I currently use a Huion GT-190. I got it when it was on sale for $299. I think it was during Black Friday so that's why the price was low. Now they discontinued the one I have and make the GT-190S, which is at $399. Been using it for months, and I still have no complaints yet.
