I've been tagging random pictures I see and I'm not sure on a tag for this one.
Could "solo_focus" be applied to this? I'm trying to get the hang of tagging.

looks more probable to be group and duo_focus though I could be wrong, it may be solo_focus. if you click on the question mark beside a tag it leads to the wiki on the tag which should give you in these kinds of cases information that should help you in tagging

I would call that group solo_focus.

I'd definitely say group solo_focus eye_contact looking_at_another

It looks like the guy in the middle is the main focus/point in the image, but he just happens to be talking to someone else.

yeah thats solo focus, not duo focus. the composition is clearly putting the focus into the one in middle.
