Topic: Missing art.

Posted under General

Recently I've been browsing the Rule 34 website, and I've been noticing art there, that isn't here, and yes, I know about how it needs to be good art to pass the quality standards, but the art I seen is pretty ok, the shadings good, some are just sketches, but so on so fourth, I'm just confused on if or if not they can be posted here, if someone can answer, please do.

Small note:
I don't even know if I'm posting this in the right area.

Assuming you're talking about Paheal, that website has wildly different rules for posting art there.

Well, it's general so I'm guessing it's ok.

Rule 34 is more laxed than E621 (least I think so). Rule 34 images are sometimes payed content, hence why sometimes R34 hosts higher quality images. Seen it there plenty of times. Though I may be out of touch since I heven't been there in months. They may have gotten their act together. I know, way more people use R34. The influx of images doesn't let their own "janitors" sift too well. Some images fall through the cracks. Payed content stays, and most users there are hush hush about it.

Here, images are sifted pretty well. The site frowns on paywalled images on the grounds that it doesn't want to anger the artist (used to be 2 years before you could upload payed content, not anymore). Artist gets angry, artist goes DNP.

Monochrome images are allowed here. I guess it depends on shape and form at that point. The level of detail that goes into a sketch probably plays a role. Usually WIP stuff isn't good to upload, but if the WIP has certain artistic merits then I think it stays.

Also, I am unsure if R34 has a DNP function, which may be why you see good images hosted there that are not here.

I've noticed that if something is found to be pirated here gets deleted, and the same file found its way to r34 than that file will also be removed, I don't know if that's because e621 gives them a heads up or if one of their janitors pays attention.
But in saying that with the fact that e621 has relevant content rules.

Though I think one of the things to really mention here, is that content actually needs to be posted to the site for it to be here. I guarantee there is plenty of quality content off site due to simply not being uploaded here.
