Topic: Clicking on the source link made permanent search suggestions

Posted under General

Idk if it's just me but when i click on a link that takes me to the art source ( mainly twitter) the next time i type in "twitter" , the links appear there with a globe icon instead of a twitter icon, probably signifying that it's a google suggestion and not a history thing. Eventhough i have already cleared browsing data, cache etc, it's still there. Autocomplete search is never on and when i shift+del the suggestions it reappears after i type the word again. Please someone help me it's been bugging me and i dont want people to stumble upon it one day because of this shitty bug

If you are using things like chrome, then your browsing history is also saved on your google account. Same with edge and microsoft account, firefox and firefox account, opera and opera account, etc. So on top of deleting local history, you'll have to delete those as well.

Might want to edit your history settings on your browser. Mine saves none of my history.

If you're not blocking ads and other javascript, especially if you auto-login to your accounts, they're tracking which websites you visit. When your browsers talks to Google to auto-complete the URL, it checks your profile to provide you with personalized advice.

If you want to avoid that then the best way is to use a different browser or browser profile when browsing things like porn. Never sign into anything like a Google account on the porn profile. Don't enter your personal details, phone number, main email address, etc... Never link anything between the two browsers. This isn't perfect since your IP, screen size, OS, available fonts, hardware signatures, etc... are still all the same and the larger companies will track you based on all that. If you want to avoid that type of tracking then you need a second computer.

Or you can skip all that and stop giving a shit about what other people think of you, assuming you're not in an area of the world where you'll be murdered for looking at porn. In that case you can move or work to change your civilization.
