I find that whenever I sort by type:webm I end up getting mostly loops. A way of sorting by video length would be quite nice.

type:webm -loop would achieve what you want. You can also try to avoid short_playtime posts, since those generally are looped animations.

Sorting by size or filtering out anything smaller than X might be useful. Shorter videos are in theory smaller videos, but that's not always the case.

I would almost argue this to never be the case, because we have 100MB filesize limit, so majority of long videos are around 100MB, but also resolution, framerate, compression rate and way of encoding all alter the filesize one way or another.
I remember clearly this was planned to be metatag at some point, but right now it's still on hold and will most likely be on new website, also that would not work with GIF, APNG or Flash files.
