im new to e621, and i wanted to add tags to an image i favorited but upon submitting them i got this text:

Access Denied: Updater can not yet perform this action. User not old enough

i looked through tag help for any explanaton, but no dice there, then used the site map to search for help in posts, the entire tags column, forums, and still i got nothing as if it wasn't here at all, and then i looked under the user help tab and found it failed to upload any text at all.

so i figure should anyone else have this problem i could post my query here so they could get answers as well, or if this is a glitch and what im looking for in the users help tab its reported since i can't find what this means.

my join date was 3/9/2020

The /help/accounts page says

Member

The basic account type. Every user is a member upon registering.

Base upload limit of 10, increased by approved images and decreased by deleted images
Must wait seven days after registration to:
Edit tags and notes, flag posts, and downvote posts
Comment, write blips, and create forum posts
Remove posts from pools, create public sets
Upload posts
Edit the wiki

Obviously some of that's incorrect as you're making forum posts, but you'll have to wait a week before you can start tagging.

By this:

Access Denied: Updater can not yet perform this action. User not old enough

the site is referring to the age of your account, not your own legal age. As MagnusEffect showed above, you need to wait a week before you can post. I'm sure it's annoying, but I think it's there basically to help prevent the more impulsive trolls from creating new accounts and go straight to their shenanigans. (I'm sure I'll be corrected shortly.)

Thank god someone explained this i couldnt understand why it was saying that as im 23 it couldnt be legal age lol

Fair enough trolls really piss me off
