Topic: why are so many pictures labeled both gynomorph and intersex???

They're two totally different things. If I'm searching for girls with dicks, I don't want half the page to be herms. And vice versa. as someone who's a chick with a dick myself, I'm genuinely ticked off. it usually takes massacring a basket of kittens to do so. and honestly, it's just one example of the nonsensical tagging that goes on here. half the time it's twys, the other half it's wtf ever. and plenty of other pics dating up to a decade back are improperly tagged. I'm just one of many rando visitors, I don't consider it my responsibility, especially when the sociopaths who run this place will fuck you sideways half the time for trying to do anything they don't consider to be correct. which is hilarious in and of itself, but oh well. Just letting people know there's a lot of retroactive tagging work to be done if anyone wishes to dust up the place.

Gynomorph implies intersex in the tag system, so tagging something with gynomorph will automatically add intersex to the image.

I did not read your post, I only answered the title question :/

intersex is the used as a blanket tag for any character that exhibits defining traits of more than one gender.
this includes gynomorphs, andromorphs, herms, and maleherms. intersex is a tag that should in 99.99+% of cases (if not every single case) should not be applied on it's own without one of these four tags.
if you're confused as to the definition or use of a tag when trying to refine a search or add tags, please consult the wiki pages for the related tag, they'll almost always have useful information on the tag.

if you feel there are any posts which mistagged as one of those 4 tags (i.e. a herm character is mistagged as gynomorph or vice versa) you can click the Edit button below the image and correct the tag for future users.

TL;DR if you're looking for "girls with dicks" and you're trying to avoid seeing herm characters the search you're looking for is not intersex it's gynomorph.

No. They are not. "Intersex" means anyone whose physical sexual characteristics do not fall into the typical categories of male and female. It's not just on here that it means that, that's the literal definition of the term. So, while intersex includes more than just gynomorphs, gynomorphs 100% are intersex.

Also false. It's twys 100% of the time, by the rules. If something is tagged "wtf ever," then it is improperly tagged and needs editing.

There are some weird cases where intersex is applicable on its own.

This kangaroo has a pouch, which is a bit of anatomy unique to females, despite otherwise appearing male (including having a penis). A character like this doesn't really fit into any of the more specific intersex categories.

@Jacob:
Realistically that's 99% of the time, because we still do have crossgender and a few other 'you get this TWYKish thing because searchability is the ultimate aim' tags. Presumably once we have lore tags as a separate category this won't be an issue.

From what I hear, 'intersex' is also a medical category that is.. *like* what you said, but not quite so straightforward. But TWYS can't incorporate any non-obvious medical history[1], so we treat all combinations of sexual characteristics as if the character possessed them from birth. We also generally prefer the choice that is understandable to the greatest number of people, so in this context 'intersex' is the obvious word choice for this umbrella tag.

[1] 'obvious medical history' being things like mastectomy scars.

But the intersex tag, and related tags like gynomorph and the like, still apply even when there's visible scars to show that they were NOT born that way. There's even a "visibly_trans" tag for just such a situation, but that's unrelated to the topic at hand. Point is, no, the intersex/intersex-related tags do NOT assume they were born that way, or that they were. No assumption is made whatsoever. They merely describe an atypical configuration of NSFW body parts.
