Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: check_translation -> translation_check

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #46109 check_translation -> translation_check has been approved.

Reason: "check_translation" is what the new system puts as a tag after a translation note is made, but currently "translation_check" outpaces it in the number of pictures tagged. I tried to do it vice versa but the system would not let me (Error: Antecedent name has already been taken), so maybe this would work better?

EDIT: The tag alias check_translation -> translation_check (forum #289052) has been approved by @Millcore.

Though I like the "higher post count takes precedence" approach, the name check translation seems more correct. Translation check is a passive noun phrase, whereas check translation is an explicit call for action.

So, proposed revision: alias translation_check -> check_translation

Updated

It doesn't matter much to me which is kept and which is aliased, just so long as the tag that is kept is also fixed to fill the role of the other tag being aliased (changing check_translation from a 'General' tag to a 'Meta' tag, or adding translation_check to the new translation notes instead).

Currently translation_check is at 309 posts and check_translation is at 337 posts. Check_translation is a General tag rather than Meta, and it lacks a Wiki. Clicking the "Check Translation" checkbox after adding a translation automatically adds the check_translation tag, which is why it has so many posts.

I've brought this up on the bug report thread (about 3 weeks ago), but really the solution here might be just aliasing them together.
