Topic: Artifacts from compressed images. can it pass if it is used artisticly

Posted under Art Talk

Hey! Rookie here.

I make SFM Porn. and i have read the rules. one states not to post Artwork that is heavily compressed to the point of visible artifacting. i have been a fan of the Found Footage genre for a while and i have good knowledge on how camera sensors work. would it be against E621's rules to post content with INTENDED Artifacting, Glitching, Noise grain, motion blur and warped lens effects? AKA used artistically to look like its out of a very low end camera and snipped from a 720P video but in 5K?

I think it'd be allowed as long as it was clear that it was found footage. So along with artifacting and grain, you'd ideally have things like camera jiggle, the time in the corner, etc.

Many artists do deliberately degrade their work to give it certain aesthetic.
As long as it's not absurd and it's extremely clear from post itself that it's done on purpose, it's usually acceptable.

Of course, deep fried images, if they're not low effort memes and shitposts, might get a pass here.
