Topic: What is considered high quality for a sketch photograph?

Posted under General

I remember the guidelines saying traditional media is acceptable as long as it is high quality but not what separates high quality posts from low/unacceptable quality posts, so i would like to hear what the forum thinks about it.

Mainly because i would like to upload sheep4sleep1915 / lewdersheep's work here which is virtually all photographed traditional sketches.

I would also like to know what you all think of some of my sketches
Mainly these two (nsfw lite)

I know the photography can be better but are the sketches themselves worth sharing or uploading? Is there anything about my work that seems unsatisfying or unfinished?

Obligatory not an admin but:
From what I've seen it's usually down to lighting conditions. Don't take my statements as gospel but some of the posts from that twitter might be too dim.

Of your own posts, I'd guess your first one needs more cleaning up around the linework, and some better lighting
The second one seems lit well enough but the angle it's photographed from feels slightly off. Are you able to use a tripod to get as close to a flat angle as you can?

Nope

My only option is to eyeball it, which is something i have always sucked at. I guess thats just something ill get better at with time and practice. Thank you for the response.

If you're using a remotely modern mobile phone, it has an inbuilt level effectively (gyroscope?)
which is why apps like bubble level exist.

So you do have some options for getting a grip on 'what is flat', probably.
