Maybe I'm just missing something obvious, but I (and I imagine lots of other people) want to follow pools to see when a new page from a comic etc is posted and I don't see any way to do that besides bookmarking the latest page and checking it. Is there RSS that I could get notified using? Or a way to mark the pools I want to follow and see the latest posts from it?

Yes, you can create an RSS feed for any search by adding ".atom" after the "posts" in the URL. Example: RSS feed for https://e621.net/posts?tags=zummeng+female+solo is https://e621.net/posts.atom?tags=zummeng+female+solo

You can use this to follow pools by simply searching for the pool in question. Example: Use https://e621.net/posts.atom?tags=pool%3A19788 to get the RSS feed for pool #19788.

As a bit of shameless self-promotion, I'd like to point out that the RE621 userscript allows you to subscribe to pools, tags, forum threads, and comment chains with a click of a button. It does a lot of other things, too.
