Just to start out with, I'm relatively new to E6, so please forgive my ignorance.

I've uploaded a few posts where the source was ripped directly from a game, no screencap involved at full original quality.
Regardless of this, the posts were removed due to being a "screencap".

It's not that I want to argue against the decision, I just want to understand it so I can prevent this issue again in the future.

Game rips fall under the same category as screencaps in the rules . Unless the artist/game creator has released the art outside of the game, they're not allowed.

You are linking to guidelines.
This is kinda huge seperation, because uploading againts rules gets you a warning and post always deleted. Uploading againts guidelines will most likely simply get post deleted.
