Topic: Anyone think the 'no creepy comments' rule is stupid?

Personally I think it would add flavor to the site to see people comment stuff like 'omg I wanna be in dat sexy belly' on a vore picture. I mean at the very least we could stop calling them 'creepy' comments and rephrase them as 'personally intimate' comments because what the fuck is this, Tumblr? No, it's a furry site that allows cub and feral ran by a website that sells dragon dildos, dragonfruit and the furry community are pots calling the kettle black if they're calling furries who admit their feelings for porn 'creepy'. Also, what are we supposed to comment: cliche statements like 'Magikarp used smash' and other really unfunny jokes? Are we supposed to be 'professionale artistes' and make comments like 'Ah yes, the composition of this piece is rather exquisite. I love the tones used here'? Let people have imaginations that run amok, why is this even a rule, no other porn site that I know of even has this rule.

"Creating forum posts, threads, or comments that cause an unpleasant feeling of fear or unease, or are sexually inappropriate"
This is so subjective that it pretty much gives mods territory to give infractions to anyone they don't like. Also the fuck does 'sexually inappropriate' mean on a porn site.

And no other porn site has comments ever worth reading.

You have a point, but as I've said, cliches and puns (the majority of comments I see around here) take up a lot of comment space. Also compliments that aren't personally-invested, like saying 'nice ass' instead of saying 'I wanna pound that ass' go... I think.

Ever see the subreddit /r/pornhubcomments?

People wanting to see your comments to provide open mockery isn't that much better than people not wanting to see your comments.

Short answer, no.

Not so short answer, we don't want to see your personal perversions proudly smacked in our faces in the comments any more than you care about ours.

E621 isn't a porn site despite having lots of porn on it. There's a lot of nonpornographic stuff on it as well, and a number of its patrons enjoy looking at the nonpornographic material as well. Basically, e621 is an image board that caters to anthropomorphic art of a graphic nature, whether it be safe, erotic, or pornographic.

Furthermore, dismissing those who don't want to see creepy comments as hypocrites or prudes is disingenuous. Had it been me, I would have said that users don't want to see creepy comments because it interferes with their own internal creepy commentary. Yet, both takes are limited in scope and mean-spirited.

For one thing, your creepy comments can be disagreeable to other users without them being hypocritical prudes should your fetish not be one they like. The picture might be one they're okay with. It might even be Safe. But those creepy comments can't be blacklisted and would be especially jarring on nonpornographic pictures.

Besides, I remember barbados, who was prolific (orally), aggravating (vaginally), and stubbornly refused to stop (anally) to the point of ban evading (nasally).

Are we referring to it by its proper username now? I thought we only referred to that thing as "brrbrrdrrs".

But anyways, everything Clawstripe said. Your internal monologue is all you, go right ahead and think whatever you want. X that Y right in the Z, or whatever. I just don't want to hear it. Even if I felt the same way about an image, I don't want to know about other folks' fetishes. I don't think it's prudish or hypocritical to feel that communal arousal is a different experience from personal arousal. It's like when you're at a party and your buddy who's hosting suddenly pulls out their 6"x18" latex dildo. Only it's a stranger, and now you're wondering if you should leave before something happens to you without your consent.

No, I'm in full support of the "no creepy comments" rule, in fact that last time I was more active on these forums I had suggested folks treat e621 more like a museum - and if you wouldn't say it in front of a replica of Birth of Venus at The Met, maybe just keep it to yourself.

FFS no. The rule isn't changing, and rightfully so. If you like porn sites' comments section better, then go comment there. It's hard enough to find well-informed conversation here as it is.

Even if this was a porn site, you still shouldn't post creepy comments. No one wants to read that.

If the mods and the site atmosphere offend you so much, you can do everyone else a favor and leave. You sound like either a banned user with an alt and an axe to grind, or someone underaged trying to be edgy and failing. Either way, you don’t make a convincing argument.

Yeah, judging by his comments, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a ban evader

And remarkably salty about it, to boot.
