Topic: 2 artists, 1 person [Artist Tag Question]

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I couldn't find info on Help:Artists regarding artists who use multiple identities/names so I'll ask here. This is a situation that sometimes happens:

An artist posts on FurAffinity using 2 different accounts. Let's call them "Bunny123" and "Wolf123":
- On 'Bunny123' they upload SFW art.
- On 'Wolf123' they upload hardcore fetish, gore and scat art.

The 'Wolf123' profile page mentions their SFW account 'Bunny123', but the 'Bunny123' profile does not mention the 'Wolf123' account.

If art from both these accounts will be uploaded to e621, and the artist's wish is for 'Wolf123' fans to know of their 'Bunny123' account, but not for 'Bunny123' fans to learn of their 'Wolf123' account, will e621's artist tagging practises be able to accomodate this wish? In other words, will it be allowed for them to have 2 separate artist tags (Bunny123 and Wolf123), but only have it mentioned in the Notes section on the 'Wolf123' artist page that they are also 'Bunny123'?

If they want to do that on their own galleries sure, but when you know artist x is also artist y and it isn't some sort of secret account. Than I don't see why you wouldn't include that information in e6 wikis as it's kind of useful to be able to sauce with complete information.

As far as I know, as long as there's no direct link between an artist's NSFW and SFW accounts, they should remain separate here too, even if someone may figure out they're the same person by comparing styles or friend connections or what-have-you.

However, if the artist's NSFW account explicitly links to the SFW account, but the SFW account does not link to their NSFW account in any way, that's an interesting conundrum. Realistically, someone could search for that person's SFW account name and find their NSFW account mentioning it, so someone not specifically looking for NSFW stuff could still find out. I'm not sure what this site's policy is on 'one-way' artist links like that.

I'm also not sure if anything would change if, rather than being NSFW vs SFW accounts, it's different accounts for fetishy material and non-fetishy material (neither porn), or SFW furry and SFW non-furry.

In case of this artist I couldn't find any links between their accounts, but uploads from both get the same artist tag. Not sure if that's the general rule though.

Multiple names for a single artist should be aliased together unless the artist does not want them connected. In cases like this where the artist appears to want to keep separate identities, they should be separate on e6 as well. You can also contact the artist to check thier preference.

different tags? sure. But I don't see a reason why you wouldn't provide that information in the wiki.
