I think that having them hidden by default are easily unnoticeable, and i don't know it its just me, but since the e6 update it took me some time to find xD. I think it would be good to have it like this by default

That IS the default. The only time the parents/children aren't visible to somebody using the default settings, is when said parent/child has been marked with a tag that user has blacklisted.

Really? it wasn't by default for me even when the content wasn't blacklisted o:

All I know is, I haven't touched any setting relating to parent/child posts being shown (unless I just have shit memory, which is distinctly possible...), and the system only hides them from me if I've got something blacklisted.

It seems when you touch the "show" button it stays like this until you touch it again.
