Topic: Increasing FPS of videos

Posted under General

Hi
This might be a stupid question.
There is a program, called Flowframes. It's used to increase the FPS of videos, with the help of AI.
I just tested it, and it works very good and increases the quality significantly.
I know low effort edits are a reason to delete a picture or video. So, I ask here before doing it.
I would only do it on videos with less than about 15 FPS.

No, AI upscaling/interpolation isn't considered acceptable edits. See the uploading guidelines.

Neural network and AI edits are not permitted, regardless of type of edit (uncensoring, coloring, denoise, etc.).

Ok. I kinda expected and understand this, considering the extra work the admins would have, deleting the old videos. Thanks for the fast response tho ^^

It's funny how before the AI stuff, TVs have had interpolations for over decade and look decent, but even just ffmpeg minterpolate plugin works fine, but now when it's AI which introduce a fuckload of artifacts, everyone is amaze.

I also extremely hate when this is incorrectly applied on frame-by-frame animations, where it does the fast, stop, fast, stop, repeat cycle instead of actually increasing and smoothing the framerate.

No. I delete these things almost every week, including ones made by artists themselves. Stop doing this shit.

even the TV interpolation looks pretty bad, it does the stop and start shit too. those types of programs should be treated like a quick neat thing, you use it once and go "oh that's neat" and move onto something else. some people treat it like it's a new encoder. notbad621 used Dain app with one of his animations, and it looked super bad
